The Komatsu Queensland Headquaters is the most complex and advanced assembly branch for Komatsu Australia for some of the worlds largest mining machinery. The facility is now regarded as one of the best global facilities in the industry and incorporates a heavy machine assembly plant, service workshop, sales and administration offices, manufacturing facility, the largest heated truck spray booth in the southern hemisphere, truck wash bay, track and boiler maker workshop and state of the art hi-tech condition monitoring oil testing laboratory.
The $55m project required complex regulatory approvals and was delivered within the Project Manager's budget and timeframe.

Purpose

To create a larger greenfield assembly plant, workshops and adminstration office by amalgamating the current four separate Komatsu sites onto one new site to facilitate the expansion of the Komatsu business to cater for the mining boom taking place across Queensland.

Objectives

To project manage the formation of a client brief, aquisition, approvals, design, construct and delivery of the new Komatsu Queensland Headquarters and Assembly point with a total initial building requirement of 12760m2 for a total budget of $13.75m and a construction duration of 18 months excluding approvals and approved extentions of time duration of 24 weeks.
